The excitement of festivals is infectious. When we lived in Calcutta in the eighties, we celebrated them all in this vibrant and cosmopolitan city. Whether it was the Western, Chinese, Sikh New years, Kali Puja, Durga Puja, Eid, Christmas or Easter, there were always a multitude of friends who invited us to join into their festivities.
Are you one of those savvy people who can install a music player on your blog, so that everyone can share the music you are listening to when you sit at your PC? How I wish I were. It seems to me terrible that after years of exposure to the virtual world I should be still incapable of installing such a feature on my site.
Believe me, I have tried – and in the event ruined my template.

Do you feel disappointed if you do not find comments below your posts?
Don’t be. Like me, your friends and fellow bloggers may be suffering from comment fatigue.
Writing and reading a multitude of Blogs every day can be as demanding as a work out at the gym. If you are a writer, you will know what I mean. And if you are not, I recommend the experience to you. From inspiration
IF EVER an new invention took delight in tormenting (wo)man, it is the tyranny of posting something worthwhile
every day. You install the software on your PC, thinking how useful it will be to discipline yourself to write a few lines everyday. You reckon how convinient it would be to let your family and friends know what is happening in your world - and before you know it you are hooked to the infernal machine.
That's why today you'll find a sign on my door:
"Gone Fishing to Hajji Ali Goth.
However, before I'll hit the road I'd like to share with you some tips and tricks
for everyone living in an earthquake- or hurricane-prone zone.
Just in case.
HAVE you ever asked yourself what magic it is on an early morning when you step out on your balcony to watch the scenery around you?
Perhaps if you were born and bred in that country and you look around you may find it hard to understand its spell.
But if you are a foreign resident to that county you will marvel – as I do every morning when I am having my first cup of tea – at the sights and smells of Karachi by the Arabian Sea.
